Welcome to my classroom! I'm very excited that you will be learning with me this year, and I look forward to getting to know you! This webpage will serve as an excellent resource for you throughout the year.
With hard work, anyone can be successful in my class. Therefore, my number one expectation is that you put forth effort and work to your full potential EVERYDAY. The next expectation is that you ALWAYS ask for help when you need it. Each student learns differently, so it is expected that there will be some things you need me to explain in a different way. I want you to have every opportunity to succeed, so, if you are struggling, always let me know. Finally, I believe that mistakes offer the greatest opportunity for learning. I hope that you can embrace your mistakes this year and learn from them.
Here is some information about me: I graduated from Butler University with majors in English Literature and Middle/Secondary Education and a minor in Spanish. At Butler, I worked as a tutor in the Writers' Studio, assisting other students with their writing. I am licensed through Ball State University to teach high ability students. In addition, I received my master's degree in Educational Psychology at Ball State University in 2013. This is my 10th year teaching. Outside of teaching, I love animals. I live on a small farm and have two horses (Trygve and Moose), a dog (Bailey), and two cats (Igor and Ivan).
In my classroom, you are expected to follow the Warrior Way. The five Be's of the Warrior Way are listed below. We will discuss what they mean more specifically at the start of the year.
